James Hersey is an Austrian/American artist, producer, and songwriter signed to Glassnote Records in New York. His global debut EP “Pages” was released in May 2017, with its lead single “Miss You” shooting up the Spotify Global Charts in 10 countries including the US and the UK. The song was playlisted on Sirius XM Hits 1 and supported by IHeart Radio in the US , while in the UK BBC Radio1’s Annie Mac named James one of her “New Names” to watch.
“Miss You” was not, however, James’ first ever success. In 2014, he wrote a song called “Coming Over”, which he famously recorded on a Vienna rooftop. The track would be subsequently remixed by local up-and-coming DJ filous, becoming an overnight sensation with over 100M total combined streams. It would then be reworked as a feature by Kygo & Dillon Francis, and released to become Dillon Francis’ most successful track to date, climbing the US Top 40 radio charts and peaking at #1 in the US Billboard Dance Charts in June 2016. Back in Europe, James rejoined filous in Vienna and wrote the artists’ biggest single, “How Hard I Try”, which was also released as a feature and stayed in the Top 40 of Germany’s radio charts for 24 weeks in 2015 and 2016.
